Candy, I think we have a toy just like Daisy’s in our stash. Is that Mr. Hedgehog? Does he squeak? Our hedgehog is quite old, ratty and well-loved. If I bury him all the way at the bottom of the toybox, one of the girls will root him out with adorable determination. Furbabies fur-ever!!!!
Just read the account of your day in the medical twilight zone……condolences AgyJane. My hubby’s awesome venerable Godmother used to say she wished to live to be 100 so folks would ask her the secret to a long life and she could advise them: “smoke and drink and stay as far away from doctors as you can!” Oh do we not LOATHE having to resort to a doctor’s “care?” BUT – when we need them we need them. I hope you and your magnificent gorilla will be provided with answers and solutions, the sooner the better!!
Ms. Deni, ah, the “effs” that apply: fantastic, first-class, fanciful, finer than fine……..and I wish phenomenal was spelled like it sounds because that one fits in spades! Love your song, you fantastic phenom!
Much excitement at the farm early this morning. All my smoke detectors decided, for no apparent reason, to rouse me and the girls from a sound sleep. The sound was deafening and it blared for many MANY minutes. Once I determined the cottage was not on fire I headed for the electrical panel to locate the switch that would disable the damn system. Alas no such switch exists. I was considering shutting ALL the power off when silence returned. So far there has been no further malfunction but when I did a bit of googling, it is apparent that the solution to this problem is to call the electrician to replace my 13 year-old detectors. Better than having a heart attack, one would assume?
Yo! In honor of the changing seasons: The Four Seasons inspired: Sherry sherry Baby! She's out tonight With her red dress on. She'll dancing with kizzy in the trees til dawn.
What a wonderful post. It took me awhile to find it. But sooo worth it.
I am totally using Ph's. If it walks like an F, talks and sounds like an F, it's an Effin' F! Besides I've been waiting to use Phalanges [fuh-lan'-jeez]~ The bones of the toes (and fingers) I learned it on the TV show "Bones". She is like my favorite TV character these days.
That is weird with the smoke alarms. All of them. I would have been homicidal in moments. Your story brought me back to days of frantically beating at the smoke thingies with a broom til I knocked them down. I swear to god I'd die of a heart attack long before any smoke got me. It makes sense that they're losing their grip and need to be replaced. But I don't understand why they'd all go out at once. Perhaps that's a feature rather than a bug. Ya know to get you to replace them, rather than putz around. I hope you've recovered form such an unnerving episode.
The magic is moving right back atcha, exponentially increasing it's power as it flows Fabs-wise,
Phanages! [fuh-lan'-jeez] You wave your Toes(or fingers) about saying [fuh-lan'-jeez] drawing out the 'jeez'. It's like a meditation. Well it's exactly like my meditation.
I'm watching the debate, but thought I'd check in here, too. I wish the Dems had let Lawrence Lessig participate. I think they are a little afraid of him!!
Agyjane I'm thinking about you and hoping the docs will find some help. Your weight loss Is too much. I'm sure the stress must be enormous, with Curt being so sick. You are in my thoughts and prayers always. Hope your furry pack is bringing you some peace and joy. I was happy to see your post and know what is going on.
I love reading everyone's posts. You are all so creative and fun to read. I marvel at the brilliance!!
Sherry, I've had my smoke detector go off; it is so flipping unnerving! And it's hard to feel sure that it won't just happen again. The joys of modern technology!!! I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but I did laugh at the vision of you battling the demon detectors with your broom. Your description touched my funny bone.
I'm so glad you are using your fuh-lan-jeez to stay in touch here, Deni. We are finally going to get a change in seasons here. It was 80 today and will be 58 by the weekend. I'm ready and hope Daisy will like the snow.
Well at least these Dems are talking about issues, with personal attacks. Some class and brains there. I think Chaffee looks the weakest-imo. Sanders is sticking to his guns. Let's see what the press does with this debate. They are part of the problem, when they should be part of the solution.
Daisy is honored that we are using her pic/ thread. Thanks for the info Deni, I learned how to get around here better. I tried to find a YouTube of the song Sherry to post, but couldn't get it here. Love those oldies, but goodies. Cause they R' us!!!
I thought the debate was pretty good. Hillary looked pretty good and so did Sanders. Did you read that Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC fell down and was about to be trampled under the media crush when Bernie ran to her and rescued her. He's a really decent man.
Hope that white light is surrounding Agy and the pack.
So pleased that you recognized the humor in the "blasted out of bed" story.....that is exactly why I shared it. I am totally PATHETIC in the morning so when I reflect on that adventure I crack myself up. (favorite Deni concept: cracking oneself up) Broomsticks and barking dogs and chaotic cacophony. So far we have not been subjected to another rude awakening, good thing too since I have not scheduled my hot date with the electrician yet. I am currently experiencing a twice-yearly invasion of box elder bugs right now, I wonder if one of the little bastards flew into a detector and that created the problem?
I watched the debate too, what a refreshing change from the disgusting side shows we endured from the "dark side." It gives one a glimmer of hope for the future of our democracy. I am most grateful that one party values civility and intelligent discourse.......and actually cares about a functioning government. Who knows, perhaps some on the right will conclude it is time to stop voting against their own best interest.........or not? :-}
Sherry, brooms will never be quite the same for me-still smile when I think of your morning adventure. By the way, Daisy's toy is Mt Hedgehog; we named him Harry. I'm trying to teach her to choose her toys by name. She seems to know Harry, tennis ball and tire. But it's probably coincidental that she picks them up when I ask.
She loves the squeaky ones best and always when I want some peace and quiet, of course!!
I remember the box elder bugs really well from my time in Oregon. They liked my air vent upstairs and seemed to find their way inside all the time. The exterminator said it was impossible to get rid of them cause they loved the trees in my backyard. Well so did I, so we compromised and I would catch them in a cup and put them outside-thought it might slow them down a bit. Not very effective!! Every once in awhile I see one here and it actually makes me think about Oregon, very happily.
We miss you Agy, and sending lots of white light your way. Take care of yourself.
Onward with cracking ourselves up, just remember the glue to keep whole is right here with the FABS. (that could be a good fifties group-yeah, yeah, yeah)
OMG!!!!! Is this finally the place I should have found after looking for two days????? All FABS alert me if this is it...I went back to trash and found this link so hope it is finally correct...don't want to spend time typing if I am wrong so give me a shout our!!!
Oops......sorry ladies. When I log in here I always arrive at what I thought was the "front page." The most recent postings (10/3, lovely elephants) are at the top. To get to the 60 + comments thread I needed to navigate to the second page. This made me think (erroneously it would seem?) that it worked that way for everyone. I surmise that everyone else has a bookmark that takes them directly to the long thread on the second page instead of Candy's front page? You could stash my computer skills in a thimble. SHOUT OUT to the tenacious Ms. AgyJane, and a sheepish apology.
Sure has been interesting to watch all the talking heads opine about the Dem debate. The arrogant bloviating O'Reilly whined that the questions were all softballs. Hahahaha....nice try you toxic flame-thrower, you proud leader of the misinformed. It would probably kill him to admit that the extremist nutballs are now in charge at the GOP. and their debate was merely a reflection of that sad reality. I tell myself that I need to stop paying attention to politics but can't seem to pull myself away. On the other hand, look what our activism did to help protect America from the disastrous alternatives in the last two Presidential elections! Worth the suffering!
I look forward to news, please know I am thinking of the Fabs, wishing you all sunshine and roses.
Although I consider myself a FAB, it may not be of mind. Please tell me if this is the place I should go to start a new thread. It overwhelmed my mind to even get this far so hoping it is the right place...right or not? Does anyone know how we can start a new blog post on a consistant basis? I am just trilled down to my last toe that we have come this far to have this FAB group together!!! I have tried to find a way to do a daily post which FB allows but all of us must be in that group to do so. I am going to be adventurous and see what I can do with a blog that takes us to a daily one...all hands on board, please.
Good to see ya Agyjane. You can do a new post here, as often as you want. Do you all have a "new post" at the top of the blog? I think you should. You just click that and then publish whatever you like. I've put a few things up, to get it started, but I think anyone can publish. Let me know what you see.
You all know more about the other sites/ places. If something else works better, sounds good to me.
Hope everyone's week has been good and your weekend is wonderful.
It has been a drizzly day out West. I didn't mind because this was mammo day and I couldn't have worked outside much anyway. I really dislike this diagnostic ordeal but realize how important it is for all of us to grit our teeth and git'er done, eh?
Tomorrow will be as sweet as today was tart. As I think y'all know, I have a wonderful relationship with my hubby's twin brother......tomorrow is their birthday so I am meeting the bro to celebrate. I have called ahead and special-ordered his fave: a marionberry scone, and I will fetch in a big bag of aji dulce peppers fresh from the garden. I also selected a couple of signed first editions from hubby's collection to round out the gift basket. And it looks like ma nature will be providing warm dry driving conditions....who could ask for anything more??
Hope everyone's week is off to an encouraging start, I am transmitting waves of white light and +~~ aplenty.
Sounds like a lovely day ahead Sherry. Well deserved after gritting your teeth and getting your mammo done. Guess I better get mine scheduled.
Looks like fall arrives in earnest on Wednesday- down to 52; but a welcome change. Playing in a bridge tournament this weekend, first time since I got Miss Daisy. She's going to hang out with her sister. I miss her when I'm just gone for a bit, so we will see how this works.
Looks like Harper is out in Canada- maybe that bodes well for liberal success in the good ole USA!! Hopefully!!
Hope you got some useful news Agyjane and are feeling better. Take care all,
Hey FABS...glad to know that my post worked but there was no place to denote who may enter and that is a little worrisome. Wish that we could have a place that we knew was just ours!
I am a little behind the curve as news from Gorilla's doctor was not great. His sister came down from Portland to take him to the surgeon today and he said that his situation has entered a new phase which is not good. He is consulting with his Gastro into what may be the best plan of action. From what he discerned, it is going to be more surgery and maybe a colonsocophy bag in the near future. We aren't sure of all of this but the prognosis was not a good one. Needless to say, I am into anxiety big time. However, some of the problems that I was having are better as I went off the drug, statin, that I never wanted to take in the first place but Doc insisted. I think that I will call of several of the things he had wanted which were MRI and Colonsocopy which I don't think that I need now. I absolutely HATE drugs and didn't want to take it anyway as my good and bad cholesterol was not what they wanted but has been this way all of my life....that is why I take a large dose of niasin daily. Maybe he will believe me now!!!! My theory is never take any drug unless you absolutely have to. I am stressed but will hope for the best in all that is to be and try to keep going with a smile as that always helps all of us. There are so many horrible things out there that I feel so lucky to be where we are. So KEEP THE FUN COMING my way and we will all get through what ails us as it all could be much worse.
That's not good news about the Gorilla. I am so sad that you all are dealing with all of these problems. I think you are smart to take as little as possible-drug wise. They put me on statins in Texas and I started having terrible cramps and weakness in my legs; went to the dr and he said he didn't think it was from the statins. Stopped taking it and no more leg problems. I'm glad you are doing some better.
I don't think you need to worry about anyone getting into this blog; pretty sure you have to be invited. But, as I have said I am definitely not very knowledgeable about how this works. I think it is safe.
I posted some music for ya'll. Fun and healing and good thoughts!! Hope everyone is doing ok. Cool and rainy here today and it is heaven!! Daisy thought it would be fun to stay out in the rain and play, so I let her for a bit, but then said we have to go in. She clearly didn't see why!!
Hey all you FAB effup's out there. I made two posts and they are showing up NOwhere!! Guess that is why we are FAB in a effeuped kind of way...Hahahahahha. Hi Agy,
I think somehow we all migrated to the Frankie Valli posting of "Sherry".
I'm confused now too. This morning I went to the picture of Daisy and was
disoriented when I didn't see the previous comments. Then I remembered that
we were all commenting under the "Sherry" song.
I put up a new song this morning. I'm trying to add some new stuff, but it
does get confusing about where we are.
Let me know if we should do something to make it better.
Good day all.
Hugs,
Candy
