Awwwwwww..............take me back! This song hit number ONE on the charts on my 16th birthday. A very special gift for an insecure teenager. Thanks for the memories!!
So Daisy likes the rain? Lucky you - well, lucky except for muddy paws and wet towels, of course. My little furbabies so dislike wet weather that I created a covered space for them (to take care of their business on rainy days) when I was building my cottage. It keeps them confined after dark on dry nights too, when they might otherwise be eager to explore a world with coyotes lurking at the tree line.
Just watched Joe announce his decision. As much as I like him, I was hoping he would go out on a high note and not subject himself to the ugliness of the primary. I think he needs, and has earned, a peaceful retirement.
Off to the dentist now, feeling sixteen and humming a happy tune.
Candy! You figured out how to post the song. You are the best! I'm gonna hafta figure out how to do stuff on this blog.
Sherry 16 and lovin' it!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha!
I have to catch up on other the goings-on.
I bought these jammies on eBay from a very nice woman. She found a spot on them as she was getting ready to ship them. So we emailed back & forth about it yada yada yada and even though she was cracking jokes, she seemed a bit sad to me so I wrote her some funny stuff about dragons and their unwieldy dancing. Long story, less long, she ended up telling me she was all alone. No family left and one of her 2 puppies (14 and 16 yrs) was failing. Her husband was dead and it was his birthday (on the 17th). She said she wasn't doing well.
It just depressed the hell out of me. I wanted to wrap my arms around her. She was such a sweet person. She should be dancing and laughing, Her life should be filled with warmth. I went into a helluva funk. Today I finally realized the only thing I could do is envision her with all those things and send the light to care for her. She is like so many. The rhetoric in our country has to just double the isolation and loneliness too many people feel.
Mike's Cancer test is finally rescheduled. It is tomorrow morning. Mike's a wreck. Some woman he knows gave him some Xanax. I don't know whether that's a good thing or not. But my efforts to calm him (some of my awesome home-made kefir and herbal foot baths) are just not doing the trick. Fortunately he's so nervous, there's no room for my anxiety. I've decided to fall apart after the test. I am more scared of this test than the last few. Mike says he's afraid that the Cancer is back, cause he thinks his pain is getting worse. I hope that's just fear and anxiety. Please send the light, buchu buckets of light.
Well this is just cherry as hell, ain't it. On a happier note, it has fallen into the 80's here. Thank the Goddess for that!
Agy I am sending light non-stop to you and your Gorilla. I'm going to add dancing to my little altar goings on. I think that will be good. Tripping and Streaming the light fantastic!
Happy Days, Sherry!! Glad I finally figured out how to post it. How was your big day with your brother-in-law; it sounded like it was going to be fun. You have to be careful of wild critters here as well; we saw a coyote on our last walk around the lake that's just a few blocks away. And we have had bears galore this year- not enough food in the mountains. Very sad!!
Life can be so bittersweet. Here we are happy to be in touch and sharing memories, but also tough things going on. I'm with you Deni; you do just want to wrap your arms around people because we don't have a magic wand to make this stuff go away. I am focusing all my positive energy and white light for Mike and Curt. Need to catch a break here!! Keep on tripping and streaming, Deni, it's bound to help.
Agy, are these new posts what you had in mind for a daily thing? Just thought some music would be nice. I need music to keep me tethered to life! Hope you continue to feel better.
Dear Effedup ones...know that I feel so fortunate to have found you out of all the "nutcakes" on WOW. I just wrote an episel to the Romans and it flew into cyberspace about our cherished connections and the happiness that it has brought to me.
We are feeling better knowing that Curt's docs are working together and have a plan that will enhance the quality of his life.
Deni, you doing ok? I'm worried about all that water and now more on the way. Keep us posted on how it's going, if you can. That way we will know you are safe. Gee, this hurricane in Mexico is huge. But no climate change!!
I watched some of the Benghazi hearing; Hillary looked very good. What a waste of time and money, especially for a government with so many challenges. They sure didn't find any smoking guns, which is what they were after.
Hope you all have a great weekend. Daisy and I are loving the weather.
I have been with y'all in spirit as weather, and diagnostics cause angst and eat away at energy levels. Hang in there awesome ladies! You ought to be virtually shimmering from all the positive energy and love.
I watched the hearing too, I was very impressed with Hillary's knowledge and composure. I have never been a fan, but I must say I was pulling for her BIG TIME as the toxic smug-publicans tried over and over to spew their excrement only to have it drop to the ground and roll right back over them instead. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE?? Somebody - many somebodies - actually voted for those vicious vacuous morons. I sure hope we can reclaim and rehabilitate our democracy next year. I love my farm and would not like to resort to a move to Canada......although those Canadians certainly know how to stand up for change, eh?
I spent today knee-deep in housework. I treated myself to a new piece of furniture which was delivered in the afternoon. One does NOT settle a lovely new loveseat in a fusty-dusty room, right? Just so, everything got vacuumed and dusted and rearranged and sorted. The puppy girls spent the day on their breakfast porch trying to be invisible lest my cleaning frenzy might extend to a dog bath or two. (I WAS tempted but ran out of energy.)
Hope your weekend is filled with peace and good weather. Looked like things were still pretty drenched down in Dallas. Nice weekend here, high 60's; wonderful to see the sun after three days of rain. Hope you are ok, Deni!!
Sounds like a really productive day, Sherry. Don't you just love eyeing your handiwork after rearranging a room?? There is something deeply satisfying about it-at least for me. Don't have the energy or strength in my back for a good 'ol deep clean. Maybe a room at a time.
Played bridge at a local tournament yesterday. Good morning, not so focused in the afternoon. Long day, but fun to get out and see friends. Good exercise for the brain. Daisy woke up with a cough this morning. Her sister has something- maybe kennel cough, although they both have been vaccinated. So we'll have to go the vet tomorrow.
Skipped the news shows this morning. Next week the Repugs are debating at CU-Boulder. The students are mad because they only got 100 tickets. Guess they are trying to control the audience. Think I'll watch just to check out the audience. My grandson, Keegan is really excited about Bernie Sanders. I was surprised because his parents are pretty conservative; but he's a real people person and he sees the problems we have and wants someone who will work for change. Very interesting- this next generation; they just don't see what all the fuss is about with the social issues that have dominated in the past. That is another way the Repugs are out of touch.
Well the rain has passed. We got totally drenched. The yard is like a little lake! But we were very lucky as the rain lasted about 1/2 the time it was sposed to. There were lots of power outages, but our little block didn't have any.
I made meatballs and spaghetti for the deluge. I had this amazing thought to add tiny pieces of cut of bacon to the meatballs cause ya know, the meat was so lean. Not one of my best ideas. They sucked. Don't do it.
I watched the Benghazi hearing online. I had only intended to keep it on as background, but I was riveted. I couldn't believe the R's asked such inane questions in such an angry over the top fashion. Hillary handed them their asses. I enjoyed that.
Candy, how cool that Keegan is excited about Bernie. Bernie has turned all the naysayers on their ear.
How is your gorilla doing Agy? How are you? Better? Worse? the same?
Sherry Baby! A sparkling house and a new love seat! Yay!! What especially enchanted you about your new love seat?
Mike & I went for his tests. The white light certainly helped Fabs! It went so smooth and we were both very relaxed. We go back Tuesday to get the results! So keep the light flowin'! Fingers crossed; knock on wood; chant to ethers, throw salt or somesuchthing.!
Dragons and moonbeams,
ForeverForward (in an effed-up kinda way), but forward nevertheless,
What a welcome message from our Texas rose. Worry not, Deni, that white light and +~~ is ever-present. Fingers intertwined, wood fully knocked, chants echo throughout the forest, salt is well-distributed, surely this is the magic formula for insuring great results!! It was such a relief to read that the wretched weather went easy on Dragonfly Manor..... this MUST be the harbinger of more good news to come!
Re the new addition, this is my first furniture purchase in more than ten years. My old loveseat had served us well, it was comfy enough, upholstered in a southwestern pattern that blended with everything else in the room. Think of Archie Bunker and his chair when I tell you that this seat is where I live. Puppygirls to the left, laptop and TV to the right. Somewhere along the line I got it in my head that I needed to be able to put my feet up so I did a months-long massive online search to find something beyond perfect. (I usually operate under the philosophy "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," so I needed MAJOR justification.) Voila! I found a local manufacturer (Stanton) and they built me a custom recliner, covered in the prettiest brocade material imaginable. ("rebel sable") This is the most comfortable piece of furniture I have ever owned. I am focusing on the therapeutic value, and since I donated the old loveseat to the Habitat ReStore, I am feeling no guilt. (AND the new purchase motivated a deep cleaning which is never a bad thing.) :-}
Oh Candy, how I envy your bridge activities. Hubby and I used to play at least once a week and I haven't sorted a hand since he has been gone. I could probably mosey down to the senior center and look for a game there, but that would entail thinking of myself as a "senior" which apparently I am not quite ready to do? Hope all was okay for your vet visit with Ms. Daisy? We need our furbabies well and happy!! NOT too much to ask!!!
With you in spirit AgyJane, I implore the goddess to find and implement solutions that will provide peace and health in the kingdom. (see above for a recounting of fingers and wood and chanting, etc.) I can always conjure up a smile thinking of you singing duets with your feathered friends: ~~~Lollipop, Lollypop, oh Lolly-Lollypop~~~
That is good news that Mike's test went smoothly. We've got to keep the white light flowing, surrounding the FABS and families (including fur babies of course). I'm thinking good thoughts for everyone and wishing for good results. Agy, sure hope you and the Gorilla are doing ok and getting the help you need from the doctors. Let us know how you are doing.
Your new recliner sounds wonderful, Sherry. We deserve to be comfortable, even though we aren't seniors yet!!! Playing bridge again has been good for me. Gets me out of the house and I've met some nice folks here in Boulder. It's very cool that you play, Sherry. Agy has also played bridge in the past. We will have to get Deni involved, so we will have a fourth!!!!
Daisy has bronchitis-which I guess is some form of kennel cough. The vet thinks they are just too young for the vaccine to be fully effective. She's got meds and it will just take some time. Keeping her quiet is the big challenge. When we walked today the leaves were flying everywhere, much to her delight. The sidewalks and lawns were carpeted with the most beautiful reds, oranges and yellows. Snow is down to 7500 feet, so it will be here before long.
If you take a peek at the debate tomorrow night they might show a bit of Boulder and the CU campus. Also according to the local news a bunch of protestors trying to bring issues to the forefront will be there. It's being held at the Coors event center which holds about 10-15 thousand people. They gave the students 150 tickets! Ah, democracy!!
So glad to have you all to talk to and hear about how everyone is doing! I've never met a smarter or more creative bunch of people. Take care of yourselves!
The boy is cancer free! Nada zilch! as in nothing to see here! Thank you Fabs for the very healing light! I'm just wanderin' about today. Coming down from the tension. So tomorrow I can focus my light efforts squarely on Agy and her Gorilla.
It's been hundreds of years since I played bridge. But I did used to play, so we're good to go! As long as nobody expects me to be really good at it! I may suck. Oh little Daisy with the cough. Snuggle snuggle.. smooch smooch.. snuzzle face!
Protestors at the fossil-brained R's debate. Be still my heart! Did y'all hear Gov. John Kasich trash his Repub party? "“What happened to our party?” Kasich asked of the GOP. “What happened to the conservative movement?” “We have people proposing healthcare reforms that are going to leave millions of people without adequate insurance” Kasich said. “Why don’t we have no taxes?” he asked, referring Carson’s proposed 10-percent flat income tax. “Just get rid of them all, and then a chicken in every pot on top of it.” Too bad he's a voice crying in a wilderness of thought.
The rain is gone, The weather is beautiful and Layla has left the building. She stayed in for a whole week before and during the storm. But she's back at her post outside watching intently for baby rats. She's thankfully ignoring the birds, since she discovered the rats. She spends specific time each day at specific spots where they venture out. I've never seen any of them except the babies, who are short lived, thanks to our mighty rodent stalker. She must be succeeding like gangbusters cause she's hardly eating her food at all, but she's as big as house. Like fat. Or she's made friends with a neighbor whose food she likes better. She such an animal.
Sherry baby! Your love seat sounds wonderful. I'd knew there be a good story behind it's purchase. Do we have a video of Agy doing the furred duet? Cause just imagining it is awesome.
I hear we have an asteroid "The Great Pumpkin" supposedly coming nearer to the earth than like ever.

Hi FABS,
Deni-that's the most wonderful news. Cancer free, nada, zero, zilch-the best!!!
Well we will have to find a way to play bridge together sometime. It would be fun.
Have a good day everyone. Catch you later!!
Hugs, Candy
