This is the best explanation of what has happened to the Republican party I have ever read. No name calling, just an account of how we have evolved to this sorry state of affairs.
What a fantastic article! Loved it. This sentence is awesome (among many awesome sentences):

I voted today. There were 7 State Constitutional Amendments & a school bond issue. My fav amendment was the one saying the State officials don't have to live in Austin. The R's claim they shouldn't be forced to live in a Liberal city. The real reason is because they want to live in a judge friendly city when they break the law. How do they find time to govern what with all the garment rending and gnashing of teeth? The city of Richardson just north of Dallas had like 84 propositions to vote on! Whose gonna wade through that?
It's 67 degrees and raining. I got the flannel jammies going on. This week I may hafta fire up the heater. It's very exciting.
I've been unhappy with Bernie's inner circle being all-white and male. Spending so many years in 95% white Vermont,not really having to campaign much worried me. After The BLM activist hire he seemed to stop diversifying. But last week he hired DREAMer activist Cesar Vargas & today he hired DREAMer activist extraordinaire Erika Andiola! These are superb choices and proves he is listening. Whichever candidate wins, I want them to be ready and able to captivate the nation.
I'm so glad you liked the article-I just thought it was great. Glad Bernie is adapting on the go-think that show how smart he is. Meanwhile the Repubs just keep on self-destructing. I think the "establishment" Repubs, whoever they are now, are getting pretty worried about this whole Trump/Carson thing. But Rubio-ugh.
It's really great. He is wicked smart. He listens. And he adapts quickly. All important qualities. This! "establishment" Repubs, whoever they are Whoever, Indeed!
Really all their candidates suck. Gov. Kasich is the only semi-sane one as far as I can tell. He thinks the Republican Party has lost it's mind and he didn't feel anything was below the belt' at CNBC debate. But he's never going to win the R nomination. Unless nobody drops out and the completely crazy people all split the vote. He thinks people should have healthcare and perhaps not starve to death. But he's an austerity guy and very objectionable on many fronts.
I imagine the rest of the world thinks we're stark raving mad. I try to imagine another country with a group of candidates like the R's and what I would think of the hysteria. Fortunately the group who isn't crazy is moving more and more to the left. It's mythic.
I agree Deni, I think Kasich is the only one who makes any sense. Unfortunately he has the charisma of a piece of wood. And we do love our celebs in this country. And you are right he has some truly odious views/ policies. I guess the RNC cut ties with NBC because of the " gotcha" questions, which of course means anything that makes sense and requires a bit of intelligence to answer!!! Lol
I'm not sure what to do about the multiple posting threads. We could just do one new one a week and only post there. We definitely want to keep this simple and no fuss I also am not sure how the email works. I guess the box under choose an identity that allows you to ask for follow up comments only works for one thread. Heck I don't know!!!
I'm sure enjoying talking politics with everyone. I like hearing your take on stuff. And the freak show is giving us plenty to discuss.

All of the zoo here are happy that the gorilla is home and healing. He is so happy to be in his own bed! Home healthcare will come for the next few weeks while he returns to good health.
