Hi FABS,

Hope everyone is doing well. I heard from Agy and she said she thought we needed
some non-political posts. I don't seem to have as many sources for posts as would
be nice.

Thought this picture is beautiful; I took it while driving up to the top of Pikes Peak. Well I was a passenger (with my eyes closed a good share of the time). I can
cross that off my list-and definitely will; no desire to do it again. Spectacular views!!

Happy Spring to you all!

Hi Candy

WOW - that is just spectacular! Sounds like the adventure gave a whole new meaning to the word 'breathtaking!' I have been watching reports about the weather in your corner of the world and sending warm vibes in your direction. Your Daisy Dancer must think cold wet paws are her new and constant normal? YIKES!

We are experiencing the Oregon version of spring and as you know, that means rain and more rain. Guess we need to keep the faith that summer will arrive eventually? My own antidote to current conditions is to study seed catalogs, visualize the joy and nutrition to be derived from growing and sampling new veggie varieties, and assuring myself I can and WILL work off some of the pounds accumulated during winter inactivity.

I am not surprised that AgyJane has overdosed on politics, this is most certainly the ugliest most depraved election year EVER!! And worse still, the light at the end of the tunnel may be hell-fire. I find myself muting the news with ever more frequency. Still, there are rare moments of sweetness and delight - did you see the video of a little bird landing on the lectern during Bernie's speech at the Moda Canter in Portland? Let us cling to that manifest symbol of hope.

Wishing you a warm and peaceful Easter Sunday, filled with an abundance of puppy love and perhaps a chocolate marshmallow bunny?

Hi FAB ladies

Pretty quiet in here – everybody okay?

Spring is blooming in Oregon, the daffodils have come and gone, my dining room table is covered with fragrant lilacs, the peonies are displaying tight buds, and the roses are bushing out. I have been trying to focus on the beauty and promise of new life that surrounds me as I have been struggling with a major health crisis with one of my furbabies. After a month of suffering a mysterious ailment, Karma had surgery last Thursday to save her life. There was only one surgeon on this side of the country with the expertise to help us and most fortunately she was only a couple of hours away. It was touch and go but I am so humbly grateful to report that my girl seems to have turned the corner. The post-surgical recovery has been frustrating and frightening, but between a brilliant surgeon and my beloved veterinarian friend, I have been guided through the care-giving. WHEW!!

Sure hope the FABS and all your critters are well and happy. (That is probably only possible if you are not watching any political news, eh?)

Yo Sherry Baby! And teh Fabs!

I was going to start a new post. But I went to find my instructions from Candy on how to post. Only to discover I had an invite that I needed to respond to like ages ago. It has now expired.

Candyyyyy! How be ya?I haz awoken from my deep undergound bunker and I need a new contributor invite! Cause I'm an idiot.

I am so happy that Karma is all better. There's nothing sadder than a fucked up Karma! Hugs to the girrrls.

Is it dry and hot yet again today in Oregon? I must dig back into my email files and fetch teh correspondencii that's awaiting me.It'll be like a mini Christmas! I am sending the energy to AgysanRosePetal hoping her day is going well too.

I ordered 11, eleven! kinds of dwarf tomato seeds from Victory Garden in Oregon. They got here in a less than a week! Cause they know how to do shit in Oregon! ha ha! I'm tres excited to give them a try. I'm going to do a Fall crop this year. Because once again it's been wet, raining and cloudy pretty constantly for the last 2 months. No damn sun. I have only one tomato plant that is going gangbusters. The rest are just being assholes.

Love, light and roses,

DemiFab

Welcome back from the bunker Ms. Deni. Now if we could get a peep from Candy and AgyJane, that would be loverly.
:-}

The furbabies and I did some serious garden prep today, so very special to have BOTH the girls helping me. Good Karma indeed!!

Eleven tomato varieties....WOW! I always grow nine and that seems like a lot. May Ma Nature be kind to us as the spring rolls into summer. I envy a fall garden, that is not a possibility in my little corner of the world unless one has a greenhouse - which I do not. Of course, the climate is changing so who know what is in store for an Oregon gardener?

Be well all y'all, we shall survive the political season.....a sense of humor will help!

Hi FABS,

I am so sorry to hear that Karma had such a serious operation.
That is so scary! But glad she is back in the garden with you
and nothing better than working the Earth.

Nice to see ya, Deni. It has been a long couple of months. Hope
Agy and Curt are doing ok.

I have been detaching myself from all the politics; it is just more
than I can bear and would rather focus on things I can control.

Daisy is a year old now and quite the energetic handful, but so much
company that I am doubling my efforts to get her trained.
I sent new invites to you all to post.

Be well and Happy Spring-almost Summer!

Hello Fabs!

I got my invite. Thanks Candy!

I am gonna do a post. But today is choc full! We've been digging a ditch in front of the veg garden and roses to place a bamboo barrier. There's damn bamboo flying up everywhere. I'm trying to protect the special spots. So there's dirt all over the place that has to moved before it kills the grass. And the ditch is only 1 foot deep. It has to go to 2 feet. It looks fucking impossible! But I shall forge ever-forward anyway.

Yesterday Mike took down a wall that for some unknown reason was dividing the deck. I had to take everything off the shelves and out of the divided area. There's now crap everywhere. So I gots to get some sorting and straightening done out there.

Oh you think I'm done?! Oh Hell no! I went this weekend and bought a bunch of doggie tennis balls and a Frisbee. The dog across the ally has been almost totally alone since they put him there as mere pup. No one ever plays with him or hugs him or even acts like he's alive. And he is getting really large and is sooo sweet. So I have a plan to play with him each day. I have been hugging and nuzzling him. But he's needs more. Today is the first play date!

I have to get the dwarf tomato plants in their little starter pots, in order to have them ready for transplanting on time. Also moving some Zukes from the front yard to the back. Dear goddess, I'm gonna go take another Vitamin B! I think I'll do some of each thing today. If I pace myself, hopefully it will all be finished by this weekend.

Oh Daisy must be big and so beautiful now! Don't blame you at all Candy for opting out of the political insanity. The upside is the behavior of a lot of these people make me feel quite sane by comparison. Which is always appreciated.

Karma and Kizzy dancing in the garden! Yay! Yes 11tomato varieties! Which argues against my recent sanity creds. There were so many at Victory Garden site, I had a hard time choosing. They can be planted in 5 gallon containers as they take up less room and only grow 3 to 4 feet tall. And I'll already have my dwarf type seeds ready to plant next Spring. See, I've convinced myself I was actually being practical. hahaha!

I see now I could've spent this same amount of time doing a contributor post. hahaha! This does not bode well for my organizational abilities this week.

So good to be out of the 'dear gawd life is overwhelming me' bunker and back to typing with my favorite women!

FABS FOREVER! Puppies Rule! (Don't tell Layla I said that. Cats hold grudges!
