Dreams of December
As Solstice draws near it seems a good time
to begin a gratitude list.
3 things I am tres grateful for:
Toenail Clippers
Little known fact, when my back hurts,
it hurts less
if I trim my toenails.
The Sun

really what can be said?
It is the most magnificent glorious thing ever.
It's beauty is challenged only by the moon.
I woke up to a 16 degree morning.
In an hour and a half the sun
will come and pour itself out
across the tiny blades of new rye grass
and sprouts of red clover.
I think I'll greet it as it rises.
Lips!
Lips are just the best.
Whole odes could be written about the perfect design that is the lip.
It is the only flaw in that otherwise perfect creation,
(The fabled Cockatrice)
that descendant of dragons,
(The Dong Tao Chicken)
the humble chicken.
No lips. Just a beak.
I saw an X ray of a human head.
The bones did seem to form a beak-like projection.
Giving yet more credence to my theory
that humans are descended from birds.
Which are in turn descended from dragons,
who I'm pretty sure had lips.

Deni, this is absolutely superb. Poetic, lovely and takes me to another place. Which is very welcome. You are amazing. Thank you for

Aw you guys are the best ever! I've never tried putting a you tube song in a blog. But you tube made it really easy. And the music was fun, no? But I love anything with dolphin or whale sounds. They are my heroes. Because they're not Republicans.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Solstice. Gotta hold those precious times close to recall in moments of stress. I'm still working on the meditating thing. The operative word is working. Which I'm, pretty sure is the opposite of meditating. I used to laugh at my friends who did Transcendental Meditation. "How can you let go when you're trying so hard?" How indeed. haha!

Happy New Year to all you fabulous Fabs!!!
Thinking about you all. Hope we can stay connected to some sense of hope in the midst of this dismal
national scene. I hate to admit it, but the mood and the nastiness has materialized locally. People seem
to be moving to their corners, so to speak. It just all so sad! Hope I have the energy to stay engaged, but
positive.

Best wishes to the FABS for what is shaping up to be a very challenging year indeed. We can and must keep the faith!! We can't do much about the malignant coup that has commandeered the government but we CAN, each of us in our own way, live our values and continue to reject the bigotry and intolerance in every way. I know what you mean about those "corners," Candy. Very troubling. I keep hoping it won't be long before our fellow citizens begin to realize that they have been duped, and their emperor has no clothes. Until then, at least we can hang in together.

Monamwa Fabs!
Some days or some hours of some days, I feel quite fine. At other times, I'm depressive and generally not fit for human viewing. (I just got a new shower filter, which I'm pretty excited about.) I wonder when I will stop thinking this is a nightmare I'm going to wake up from and just accept the reality of what has happened. Surely there must be a third option. I get stuck there. And just pretend to ignore the whole thing.
Wonderful words and thoughts here at the Fabilicious. And they help. We can't have too much of that sort of thing. Personally I'm stocking up on all the calming teas and herbs I can think of. If I lived in either of your states, I'd be setting aside a whole room of the best stash-stuff I could find. haha! Sadly I don't. So I'm hunting down my favorite legal herbs. Like hops, valerian and skullcap. Also nice choices if you legal-stater-Fabs tend to have jittery, nervous experiences.
