haha! That was excellent Candy! Hope you and all the FABS had a fine day. I was off to house & hospital hopping with both sets of relatives. I wore my black T-shirt that read in big white letters:
"My Give-A-Shit Factor Is Very Low Right Now"
I didn't have to listen to one single piece of horseshit about that "Damn Obama". Coincidence? I think not. hahaha!
Yea, Send in the Clowns" and Ostriches come to mind with Dems having only Saturday night debates so NO one sees them come to mind. Thanking lucky stars that my only grandchild is a puppy dog!
Best holiday in memory with a gorilla swinging through the trees like a little monkey...gets no better. Even great presies...history book by FB friend historian Peter McCandless about stupity of SC...wealthiest colony before Civil War and poorest ever after...Moonlight, Magnolias and Madness. Hope all holidays as good as ours and the new year is the bestest ever...
I just turned on the TV and was horrified to watch reports of the devastating tornado in Dallas. I implore the universe to protect our Deni, and my world will feel unsettled until we hear that she is safe. I know we are all focusing our light with loving laser-like precision. Our light has power. I will be watching for an update and visualizing all things positive.
I am alive and well. Terrifying night. The tornado-laden section of the storm was due to hit us at 6:36 pm. It was moving from South Dallas (Oak Cliff) through to NE Dallas, in a 20 mile wide swath at 50 miles an hour. That path cut right through us. But at the last minute the ground tornadoes veered to the right, hitting Garland and Rowlett. We were ungodly lucky. But there is tremendous damage. I don't know how the one(s?) that hit Garland missed us.
It's being reported that some of the damage in Garland is EF-4: 166-200 mph (that's the funnel intensity, I think). It's only the 2nd EF-4 tornado ever in Dallas Co. And Dallas is no stranger to tornadoes. Growing up here, in my formative years (which admittedly didn't take)we were imprinted with the fear of tornadoes and communism. I never learned how hiding under the desk was going to help with either of those things. And it was not for want of asking!
They think right now 11 deaths. 5 were from cars being blown off the highway, landing on the underpass, underneath. They found bodies in 3 different cities. It's all very deeply terribly sad.
Of course my yard is once again a lake and the temperature is quickly dropping. We'll be below freezing in a couple of days. It was 80 degrees yesterday. My body is so confused. On the bright side, my body is now totally in tune with my mind. Hallelujah and pass the Jesus! I'm harmonized!
I'll pass along a couple of links here. The first is a video of the tornado, taken by storm-chasers. It's about 5 minutes. Half-way through they get IMHO stupidly close to it. It is yuuuge.

The second link is a twitter page with pictures of the destruction in Garland. Doesn't even count the horrible damage in Rowlett.

I kept waking up last night the thunder and lightning was so loud. I finally gave up at 4 am. All that adrenaline from the tornadoes probably.
Thank you for your concern and thinking of me!
The mantoe's mom was moved to the rehab facility yesterday (yay light-senders!)before all hell broke loose. They wheeled all the patients into the hallway, locked the doors & did some weird thing to the windows. Mike made it home at 6:26, 10 minutes before the tornadoes were due to arrive. I probably won't sleep for days.
So appreciate your update, Deni (horrific as it is) and it is such a relief to know that you were spared. Keep staying safe and know that the light is ever-present.

p.s. My farm is BURIED in nasty white stuff, and it continues to come down in huge juicy clumps. Just so, worrying about the tornado put things in perspective and I am not even slightly inclined to bitch about current conditions! :-}
Just watched the news and saw the devastation and came here hoping you had posted. Thank god you are all ok, Deni. Very scary. This weather is crazy, but there's no climate change. Holy cow that was just too effing close!! I only experienced a couple of those tornados, the smaller ones, when I lived there, and they were terrifying!! The pictures on tv look awful.
Hope we can get back to normal winter weather. Stay safe out there FABS!! Thinking about you Deni and sending white light to you and your nervous system.
Just cold here-not getting out of the 20's all week; but I'm with you Sherry, not complaining!
It is just a little more than an hour before the new year rolls into Oregon, so Agy and I are living in the past while our friends in Colorado and Texas have arrived in 2016 ahead of us. I have been working on my low-tech desk calendar - logging in birthdays and anniversaries and appointments – and as always, pondering what will be written on those 12 currently blank pages at this time next year. Probably best that the future remains unknown and that we face our challenges one day at the time?
It is 27 degrees on the farm tonight. The puppygirls and I are warm and cozy, the pellet stove is humming in the background. It has long been my habit and custom to stay home on New Year’s Eve. (Seems like that makes it more likely that I will live to start a new year.) I have been reflecting on the events of 2015…..so many blessings! Mike and Curt reclaiming their health with the love and support of their awesome womenfolk, Candy welcoming Darling Daisy Dancer into home and heart, and much for which to be grateful in my life as well.
I look forward to a fascinating year ahead – an election year that promises to make us all nutz, eh? And we will have each other to help keep us sane through it all.
Be well my special friends.

p.s. In the interest of neutralizing the Toxic Trump, I have re-named him: “tiny-penis.” Someone who must continually bloviate about his (delusional) greatness is definitely compensating for a lack of manhood. :-}
So glad to hear you were warm and comfortable last night, Sherry. And that all is well on the farm. Daisy and I were sound asleep to ring in the new year and hope that bodes well for sound sleep next year. Waking up at 4-5 is not optimal-that is for sure!
Mighty cold here as well-got down to 8 last night, but will be a balmy 32 today and headed to low 40's for the weekend. Yea!!!!
I have so much to be grateful for, not the least of which are my wonderful FAB friends. I am very glad that we have reconnected and it makes my life richer and so much more fun to be able to chat with you all about everything.
I agree, next year is likely to be a doozy and we will need to support each other through it, lest we tear our hair out. I like having an alternate name for the bloviator, and tp-tiny penis seems perfect. He is really not so entertaining anymore, just disgusting how he tries to manipulate people. But it will be very interesting to see how many people vote for him. It should be a warning to everyone how disaffected many folks are-and not always without reason. I think he is a symptom of serious discontent and disease in our good ol' USA.
Maybe we can have an honest conversation that will help the country get back on track, at least a bit. Don't know. The media is not much help-think we need to talk one on one. We are a caucus state and it is in March and I want to go to hear what is one people's minds.
Stay warm and well my FABS friends! I wish you all good things in 2016!
