Hi Candy........great article, and I got lost for awhile on the website. (my first time digging deep there) I am beginning to feel a spark of optimism as I watch the election drama play out. Is it possible that the low-information Repugs will wake up to the fact that when their party puts down "big guv'ment" they are simply trying to suppress participation and pervert democracy?!?! I have witnessed some informed and enthusiastic young people who may be the key to actualizing the Bern. We shall see.

Hope you are feeling better, I always have a more difficult time shaking a bug in the winter months. Something about the psychological effect of grey and gloomy perhaps? Just so, that Daisy Dancer is a great source of inner brightness, may you be basking in her glow.

Hey FABS

At the risk of appearing to talk to myself, I thought I would drop by and say hello. Haven't heard from anyone in awhile, hope that means everyone is well and busy? Not much news from the farm, the daffodils are up and preparing to bloom.....that is my kind of excitement!

Sending +~~ as always

Hi FABS,

It's been crazy busy here, between family, bridge and the puppy girl. I have been
following the politics a bit. I agree with you Sherry, Bernie catching on is a
good message for the "establishment", as is Trump for the Repugs; whether they
choose to listen is up to them. I've been working for a woman who is running for the local State house seat, she is youngish and very enthusiastic and it makes me feel more hopeful to know there are still good people who want to serve in government.

One of my neighbors is politically active and she got me involved. Sure glad I am in Boulder and not Texas!!

Hope everyone is doing well. I miss having Agy and her opinions and hope that she
and Curt are doing ok. Deni, hope your life has settled down a bit; sounds like you have your hands full. Thank goodness for your garden. It is imperative that we
have something to retreat to. I have been quilting and it makes me happy and calms me when it gets too chaotic.

Daisy seems to be all grown, physically, but a teenager otherwise!! She tore a pad at the dog park on Saturday and is going to the vet today to get it checked out. She's a good girl but oh so full of energy and the winter has been challenging trying to stay upright in the snow and ice. Knock on wood-nothing broken.

Thinking about you all often and hoping for all things good!

Hugs,
Candy

Okay, Fab 4, Agyjane back on the scene here! I have totally missed the Fabs as you are my lifeline as to whats great and wonderful. The politics of this day are driving me crazy which at this point is a very short trip, to say the least.
The gorilla seems to be stable for now and is ajusting to his new reality and is happy. The dogs are fine so my life is getting back into syinc....yah!
Spring in the Willamette valley seems to have come early this year as spring bloomers are peaking their heads above ground already and the time for pruning roses is past but everything looks healthy for now. We just put the hummmingbird feeder back out to welcome them for another season of high hopes and continued joy!
Waiting to see all of your fun faces pop up and getting the fun times on a roll.

Hi Agy,

It's been pretty quiet around here. Everybody doing their thing. While
the crazy politics rolls on. So glad to see you back and to hear that
things are stabilizing in your life.

We have had beautiful weather here as well. Spring seems to be here, but,
it is Feb 29 and I know we have two months of potential snow and ice ahead.
Hope our early bloomers aren't here too soon.

Hope all is well with everyone. Daisy is going through a nutso teenage stage
and I am trying to cope. She is strong and strong-willed! But very sweet and
I love her to pieces and am so grateful to have her.

I miss hearing from everyone, but know life gets in the way. Thinking of you all.

Hugs,
Candy and the crazy girl-Daisy!

Hello on the day that only exists every four years! I wonder if there is a psychological advantage when 2/29 is one's birthday? Using that accounting, I am not old enough to vote!
:-}

Good to see you on-screen, AgyJane, especially given the good news about life at the zoo. Aren't we fortunate to live in this little piece of Oregon heaven?

And Candy, I would send condolences about the continuing possibility of snow except that I can tell you are ready for what ever the ma of nature delivers....and prepared to make the most of it. Seems to me that is the secret of life - making the MOST of it.

I heard from Deni on her birthday, I surmise that things are perking along nicely in her world too. Ah, sweet islands of peace.

Or the version of peace that we can manage given the angst of this Presidential election year anyway. I agree with Lindsey Graham: he observed that his party has gone "batshit crazy." I am attempting to ignore most of the noise but that is nearly impossible. The madness permeates the airwaves and we can't exactly look away from something that has such far-reaching consequences. Did anyone else read that Hitler had a "micro-penis?" My theory about the orange-haired madman is confirmed and the other similarities come more into focus every day. I do not know ONE SINGLE PERSON who would support t.p. yet the numbers continue to confirm his popularity with the American public. Super Tuesday? I think not! Nazi Tuesday perhaps. BUT - we are a sturdy lot and we did help rescue our country from the Repug maniacs not once but TWICE. We must keep the faith that we can build a ladder to help us climb out of the rabbit hole.

Meanwhile there are beautiful home-grown daffodils on the kitchen island and I am off to see the tax lady. Life does go on. Protect and defend those islands, FAB friends.

Hi all,

I went to the caucus last night. Almost 26,000 people turned out in Boulder;
they only planned for 15,000. It was utter chaos, so now the backlash starts.

Evidently we don't have a primary because the state government wanted to save
some money. The state parties have to fund/figure out the caucus. Aaahh-democracy
in action. On a good note Michigan is about to start a recall of Rick Snyder!!

Hope all is well in FABLAND!!

Hey Candy

As you know, we vote by mail here in Oregon. I think a caucus sounds like an exciting experience.....raucous, time consuming, but edgy and interesting. Have you been watching Rachel exposing the malpractice of the governors (Jindal, Brownback, and yes, Snyder-the-poisoner) and how the citizens are being affected? WHY WOULD ANYONE REMAIN LOYAL TO THE REPUGS????? When shoes start causing weeping blisters on our feet, do we continue to wear them? Call me gobsmacked.

Another thing Rachel has been highlighting is the gestapo tactics being used by the t-p campaign brownshirts. I sure hope our country can survive this terrifying turn of events. A significant number of our fellow citizens are cheering the fascist and embracing their KKK mentality. It is comforting to have a forum where we- the sane ones - can commiserate.
Thank you!!

It is currently raining in my world, but I have a riot of daffodils and a lovely magnolia in bloom to act as antidote. And TWO green eggs in the nest today. How dare I bitch?!?!?!

Hope your day has bright spots too,

Yoo hoo FABS

Just checking in to say hello and make inquiries about how everyone is coping with the orange-haired fascist doomsday machine? I met my brother for coffee earlier and everyone in the place was discussing their various levels of t-p angst. I am going to have faith in the American electorate in the general until something PROVES me wrong.

On a positive note, it is spring weather in Oregon today, and how welcome it is to venture out without an umbrella! I stopped by the farm store on my way home to pick up some hen pellets and a bale of straw for the ladies. I could not resist taking a peek at the baby chicks. SO ADORABLE!!! I will be bringing home two new members of my flock at the end of the month, As usual I will raise them in the cottage until they are big enough to transition to the Hen Hilton. The process usually takes about six weeks and I can hardly get anything done while I am distracted by the precious little peepers.

Hope all y'all are enjoying the approach of the vernal equinox too. May snow and muddy paws be but a dim memory by now.

Hi FABS,

Well we got a foot of snow in the last two days, but it is sunny and
warmer today. Yea!!

How exciting baby chicks; that must be so cool bringing those little babies
home. They just grow up so fast. Can't believe Daisy will be 1 year old
next month. She's a good girl and starting to calm down-none too soon, for sure.

I've been quilting and playing bridge. Trying, with much difficulty, to steer
clear of the political fray, because it just makes me crazy. Are any of you
watching Full Frontal with Sam Bee-from The Daily Show? She nails these
yahoos! She interviewed some Trump supporters, it's so scary, these people are
"educated"-so-called!! They want so badly to believe that someone can fix everything.

Wow-I wish we had a Warren-Gabbard ticket to work for-but no such luck.

Hope you are all well and doing fine. Miss hearing everyone's voice about all
this stuff. Take care of yourselves.

Hugs,
Candy

Hi Candy

Right after I posted my last message I stumbled upon a photo of your snow storm.....ARGH! Someone needs to show the calendar to that enigmatic Ma of Nature. IT IS SPRING - KNOCK OFF THE WHITE STUFF ALREADY!

Oh yes - Full Frontal is must see TV, Samantha Bee was always a favorite of mine when she was on The Daily Show. I am so grateful when someone can help offset the horrific political realities with cutting humor. Thank you Samantha, Trevor, Bill Maher, Stephen Colbert. Where would we be without y'all!

I heard from Deni recently, things are pretty hectic in her world right now. I know we are all surrounding her with FAB light. Haven't heard a peep from Ms. AgyJane for awhile, hope that just indicates happy and busy. Life is indeed a crazy old place to live.

Be warm and well.
